I came late to glass engraving. Like many other Guild members, I was attracted by the work of Laurence Whistler. But it was not until I retired -- I was a journalist -- that I was able to give glass engraving the time it needed. I have always worked in stipple -- usually with tungsten carbide points and occasionally with help from a drill. I have no wish to work in any of the other engraving techniques, much as I admire them.
