I'm a highly motivated student with a passion for working with glass. Before starting my education as a glass engraver, I gained experience with the material at the Mayer'sche Hofkunstanstalt in Munich during my internship at their workshop. I have a positive outlook for the future and hope to bring back glass as not just an everyday object, but as an art and source of fascination.

About my Work:

My artwork consists of two domes, one above the other. The lower dome is decorated with deep engraved, partly polished waves. The blue dome on top has three sanded and also polished lenses. Trough those you can look on top of the waves, which are otherwise coverd by the blue coat. On top oft the blue half shell is a ice floe located. It is sanded out of a glass block and in some places polished to demonstrate the effect of glittering ice. On this ice floe is a stylized polar bear, which I carved out of a glass block as well.

My artwork represents the global warming we all know about but not act. You see the lonely polar bear on an ice floe that has broken out and below him the raging sea. We must not ignore the signs and have to act as fast as possible!

The Engraving:

"Five to Twelve" is 15cm tall and 17.5cm wide

It was engraved with deep and high engraving on 16-02-2023 using diamond and polishing wheels.

Photographers: Dong Min Lee and Josef Reitberger
