About my Work:

I wanted to create something that gives you the feeling of lying outside in the grass on a clear night looking up at the starry sky. This feeling of infinite space which holds so much and can cause endless wanderlust in you. Like there's something else waiting, something much bigger, and you're tiny but still so much. And then images appear in my head of space spiders that are ancient, complex and infintely intelligent. Who use their power to spin destinies.

On the lower belly of the vase they pull individual threads of fate from the simplified representation of the dance of venus, to change and reconnect them. The orbit of venus was chosen because of a fascination about the geometry in and around us. The growth of plants, crystals, light, music and more have a specific geometric structure. Everything in the universe follows the same geometric pattern, which is fractalized again and again, creating endless possibilities of light, colour, shape and sound.

The Engraving:

"Space Spiders" is 30cm tall and 20cm wide

It was engraved with superficial and deep engraving on 17-02-2023 using diamond and polishing wheels.
