Biography
My name is Robert Page. I am a Craft member of the Guild of Glass Engravers and the treasurer of the South West branch. I first started engraving when I received a present of a place on an engraving course run by Tracey Sheppard FGE. Glass engraving is one of those subjects where you never stop learning and I still attend classes given by Tracey when I can. Although I mostly engrave using a drill I also employ sandblasting and occasionally stipple. Because glass engraving is not my profession I can only engrave in the evenings after work. I rarely accept commissions unless the subject matter appeals to me. My last commission was a pair of wine glasses displaying corsetry from 1530 (made of iron!) and 1878 (made of silk).
