A love of the arts led Jan to study painting and printmaking as a mature student at Hereford College of Art. She taught herself glass engraving in the 1970s and now concentrate entirely on this.
Having tried various methods, her preferred method is “Point” or “Stipple” engraving. It can take several weeks to complete a piece.
She lives and works in rural Herefordshire and spends many hours walking the countryside around her home with her dogs. She has a deep empathy with the natural world, which influences her work.
She works to commission, with pieces in Britain and overseas, and exhibits all over the country.
