Biography
Born- 1931 /Edinburgh, Scotland
1953 1957- Diploma in Design and Crafts, Edinburgh College of Art. Studied glass engraving under Helen Munro-Turner.
1957-58- Hadeland Glass Works, Norway.
1958-73 -Conducted professional engraving studio in Bergen, Norway.
1973-80- Established glass engraving studio, Strathearn Glass, Crieff, Scotland
1980-  Established The Gordon Studio with wife RISH in Perth, Western Australia.
Both represented in the Australian National Gallery and finalists in the prestigeous Ranamok Glass Prze 
Our son, Kevin, an establisd cold glass artist shares our studio.

 
Engraving Techniques
In the course of my career as a full time glass engraver I have used all techniques except diamond point.
In latter years however, I have specialised in cameo engraving using my traditional lathe built around 1870. 
My glass blanks are custom made for me by my daughter Eileen and David Hay
