At the Art Workers Guild, 6 Queen Square, LONDON WC1 3AR. The Speaker will be Simon Cottle, a well known specialist in ceramics and glass. He joined Sotheby’s in 1990 and recently moved to Bonhams as Departmental Director of Continental Ceramics & Glass. This years lecture is entitled `Poetry on Glass - the excellence of Dutch Glass Engraving in the late 17th and 18th centuries`. GGE members £10 each, non-members £12 each including light refreshments. There will be a Bring & Buy sale of glass after the lecture.

ART IN ACTION - Waterperry Gardens 17 - 20 July 2008: www.artinaction.org.uk
Art in Action 2008 promises be a great venue for the contemporary glass collector. Glass engraving will have its own marquee with four artists, Akemi Adams, Julian Cole, Amanda Lawrence and Claudia Phipps demonstrating drill, stipple and diamond wheel engraving. Additionally Tony Gilliam and other artists from the Guild of Glass Engravers will provide glass engraving classes every day.
