The Stourbridge Branch is a small, friendly group holding regular workdays at the Red House Glass Cone, High St., Wordsley, in the heart of the Stourbridge glass quarter.
We meet to work on our engraving together, and from time to time have visiting expert tutors or visits to places of interest.
Meetings are generally held on the second Saturday every two months, (missing out the summer) at the Red House Glass Cone, High St, Wordsley, Stourbridge, from 10.30 – 3.30. New members and visitors are always welcome. Please get in touch for further details.
The AGM was held on Sat 5th April 2014 at the Red House Cone, Wordsley, Stourbridge and was followed by an excellent talk on the history and practice of copper wheel engraving, jointly given by Charles Hajdamach and Steve Piper. Steve had brought a portable lathe to demonstrate how some of the engraving techniques on the historical pieces would have been done. It was fascinating and very informative.
Our next meeting was on the 7th June, a select group as most people were away. We held the meeting at the Bird in Hand pub as they were doing refurbishment work at the Cone, but now these are complete we will hold our future meetings back at the Cone again.
The workday dates for the rest of the year are:
Sat 13 Sept 2014
Sat 15 Nov 2014
Sat 7 Feb 2015
Sat 4 April 2015 (AGM)
