Branch - Stourbridge & Midlands
The Stourbridge Branch is a small, friendly group holding regular workdays at the Red House Glass Cone, High St., Wordsley, in the heart of the Stourbridge glass quarter.
We meet to work on our engraving together, and from time to time have visiting expert tutors or visits to places of interest.
Meetings are generally held on the second Saturday every two months, missing out the summer.
We had an interesting meeting on the 14th September. Phil Dorman showed a fascinating film on Tiffany glass, focussing on the collection at Haworth Gallery, Accrington – definitely somewhere worth visiting. Then a glass blower looked in to say he has some culletts for sale. (I’ve posted the details on the website).
Our next workday will be on Sat 19th November, to be led by Chris Ainslie on the subject of intaglio. This promises to be a very worthwhile day, so if you are in the area do please come along.
The meeting after that will be our Christmas social on Sat 14th December. (So soon, surely not!).
Meetings are held at the Red House Glass Cone, High St., Wordsley, Stourbridge, from 10.30 – 3.30. New members and visitors are always welcome. Please get in touch for further details.
