Birmingham   Queen Alexandra College, Royal Institute for the Blind, Birmingham

David Whiteman: In 1991 HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother unveiled a glass panel by David Whiteman at the Queen Alexandra College in Birmingham - the Birmingham Royal Institute for the Blind. The 18 by 36 inch glass panel is mounted 3 inches from the wall at shoulder height (so that it may be felt easily) and depicts -Community and Communications-. The sandblasted design goes particularly deep in places so that the braille titles can be felt.
